Three fine young men in Babylon, with faith and courage bold,
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego: they did as they were told. But when an idol wide and high with celebration grand
was to be worshipped and adored, they firmly took their stand.
"The God we serve rules over all
He heeds the cry of great and small
The God we serve is with us now
We will not bend, we will not bow."
King Nebuchadnezzar called them in and said, "Can it be so?
That you refuse to bend your knees when all the others bow?"
"We're not concerned," was their reply, "Oh, King, to answer you.
The God we serve, for Him we'd die, but He can save us too!"
The king grew furious as he spoke, "We'll make the fire blue,
seven times as hot, and who's the god that will deliver you?"
Into the fire there they fell, their hands and feet were tied.
But now they rise! And do you see? A fourth man by their side!
A mighty dread then seized the king and those who with him stood.
"Four men are loose, and one," he said, "is like the Son of God!"
He called them out and blessed the Lord, for not a single hair
had even been singed, nor had the smell of fire passed on them there.
"The God we serve rules over all
He heeds the cry of great and small
The God we serve is with us now
We will not bend, we will not bow."

This is a song written for trio/quartet and narrator/soloist.
Contact Joyce if you would like a copy of the music.
The video includes family snapshots of the Nickel Family.
Joyce, I would like four copies of this song, "The God We Serve." Please send me information as to how to obtain it. I heard this song as a child. Four teenage young men sang it.
