Accepting God's Word

Should I be groping in the dark
when light is offered me?
Should I be stumbling, when a path
is staked out carefully?
Is there more satisfaction
in a life without true faith?
Is there sincere rejoicing
in rejecting "what God saith"?

What shall I gain if I refuse
advice from honest men?
How can I hope to profit
by rejecting what is clean?
Shall counsel of the mob that mocks
lead to a life that's free?
Shall scoffing at reality
bring me security?

There is a torch, there is a chart,
which I can recommend;
It offers hope to travelers
and safety to trail's end.
I'll stake my future on its claims,
which worldlings call absurd;
I join with those who've checked it out,
it is God's written word.

It Took a Miracle

Words and Music by John W. Peterson

My Father is omnipotent,
and that you can’t deny;
a God of might and miracles,
’tis written in the sky.

Chorus:
It took a miracle to put the stars in place;
It took a miracle to hang the world in space.
But when He saved my soul,
Cleansed and made me whole,
It took a miracle of love and grace.

Though here His glory has been shown,
we still can’t fully see
The wonders of His might, His throne,
twill take eternity.

The Bible tells us of His power
and wisdom all way through;
and every little bird and flower
are testimonies too.

The greatness of the Lord is seen
in everything he made,
but greater far the work He did
when on Him my sin was laid.
